 We took a mini family vacation last week. We took the boys up to Lake Okoboji for a long weekend. The boys had a great time. We went fishing, swimming, took a boat ride and went to Arnolds park. Jake wasn't too sure about the boat ride. He didn't like to go "fast". Zach went on his first big roller coaster at Arnolds Park. He only sort of liked it he says. It was nice to get away for a few days. See pictures in the photo gallery.

| Alex had 6 of his friends over yesterday to help celebrate his birthday. They all had fun playing and eating brownies. We had family over on Feb 8th to celebrate. Alex wanted pizza for supper so we made 4 homemade pizzas. Everyone enjoyed themselves and Alex got lots of cool gifts. See the pictures in the photo gallery.

| We had a good Christmas this year. We spent Christmas Day with Rick's family. Jeff, Katie & Anne & Kate were all home for the holiday. Jake and Anne had a great time playing together. My mom then came for a visit on the weekend. We had a good time. Santa (and Mom and Dad too) seemed to do pretty good this year according to the boys. We have several pictures from our celebrations in the photo gallery.

| Yeaterday Zach and Alex performed in their school Advent program. They both did a great job singing their songs. The event was taped by HMU and will hopefully be broadcast on the local cable channel. Good Job Zach and Alex!!

 Today we carved our pumpkins. Zach and Alex got their hands dirty and helped to clean out the seeds from inside their pumpkins. Jake didn't want anything to do with getting that messy. Both Alex and Zach designed and carved their own pumpkins. They both did a good job. Jake helped decide what his would look like and mom did the work. | We celebrated Zach's birthday by having 5 of his friends over to play and have cupcakes. We then had the family over for supper. Grandma Ronge was even able to come all the way from Illinois. A good time was had by all. See the pictures in the photo gallery.

Alex had his last soccer game today. They ended the season with only 1 loss. Pretty good for his first year playing. He has already said he can't wait til next year to play again. Check out the photo gallery for some pictures. Good job Alex.

| Today we added to our family. We now have a chocolate lab puppy. Her name is Jaz (short for Jazmine). The boys liked this name bacause it is all the their first initials combined. As soon as we get the photo gallery online again I will get a picture of her posted.
